Playing with my Caran D’ache watersoluable pastels!

Well I took a long run up, held my nose and dove off the deep end into my box of watersoluble pastels.  I splashed around, throwing colours in wild abandon and came up with a few different experiments with my new crayons.  I’ve given an example below of the same tiger eye used both dry and wet to show the difference.

Caran D'ache watersoluable pastels used both dry and wet.

You can see that when wet, they really bring out the pigment.  This is really exciting and I’m already head first into my photo reference albums looking for some animals to paint.  I love playing with new art supplies.  It’s so relaxing to zone out for an afternoon and just forget the world and focus on being creative.
